The project which is called Going Postal will see the artists dispatch artworks without envelope via the standard postal system. Wanda Dye is the receiving hand and is documenting and categorizing each arrival. The collaboration will culminate in an exhibition of the works entitled Going Postal at Dallas's RE Gallery this coming August.

TERMINAL COMPOSITIONS, Dallas

Gary Farrelly is delighted to invite you to Terminal Compositions, an exhibition of his new work at RO2 Gallery in the historic Kirby Building in downtown Dallas. The exhibition is Farrelly's first show in Texas since 2010 when he was artist in residence at CentralTrak and had a solo exhibition at Guerrilla Arts. Farrelly's latest body of work was produced at Pickering Forest, a counrty estate in Ireland where he has been in residence since April 2011. The exhibition is being executed under the auspices of the artist's 4th 2  Year Development Plan(2011-2013). Among the work on show in Terminal Compositions is a series of bird's eye views of airport terminals: There are already in the world airports that take the name of President Kennedy, General De Gaulle and The Ayatollah Khomeini. I propose airports named after John Waters, David Lynch and Sergei Diaghilev. The physical production of the work is characterized by obsessive mark making, redaction and repetitive  reworking in collage, water colour and pen. I describe the colours and overall atmosphere of the show as simultaneously jaded and jubilant.
